Philip D. Rinaldi Obituary - 2021 (2024)

Philip D. Rinaldi, founder and president of Philip D. Rinaldi Funeral Service P.A., passed away on March 15, 2021 at Holy Cross Hospital. He was 63 years old.

He is the son of the late Michael J. Rinaldi and Iris Bostic Rinaldi. Philip graduated from St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C. with the class of 1975 before receiving his degree in Funeral Service in 1979 from Miami Dade Community College in Miami, Florida. Following in his father’s footsteps, Philip worked in the Rinaldi funeral homes for over 45 years, establishing his current funeral home 20 years ago.

He has been a lifelong leader in the community, serving the funeral and bereavement needs of countless families throughout the metropolitan Washington area.

Philip was a member and former president of the Kiwanis Club of Silver Spring, Maryland and is also a fourth degree lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Philip is survived by his loving wife Deborah J. Rinaldi, their son Philip, and their daughter Gina. He is also survived by his brother, Michael J. Rinaldi II, sisters, Mary Linda Ponticelli, Catherine A. Statuti, and Christina E. Canfield, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held at St. Camillus Catholic Church on Monday, March 22, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. St. Camillus Catholic Church is located at 1600 St. Camillus Drive, Silver Spring, Maryland 20903. Following the funeral service, entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.

Please keep in mind that all COVID-19 restrictions and safety precautions will be taken during the visitation hour and funeral service. Masks will be required.
