Gentry 76 of Atlanta, a retired State Court Judge and Atlanta Attorney died at Piedmont Hospital March 28, 1992 after several months of illness. Judge Gentry was born April 15, 1915 in Eastman, Ga.

He was a graduate of Emory College 1936 and Emory University School of Law 1938. He had been a Judge of the State Court of Fulton County from 1980 until he retired in 1986. He practiced law in Atlanta from 1947 until 1980, after service in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy during WWII. Judge Gentry was a member of the Georgia Bar Association and a member of The Lawyers Club of Atlanta.

He had a continuing interest in history, philosophy, and legal tho*ry. He was a active member of Northside United Methodist Church for over 35 years. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Baggett Gentry, daughter, Celestea Sharp, Atlanta; four sons, Edgar C. Gentry Bronxville, New York; Charles B. Gentry and William C.

and Lucile H. Manget of Newnan and descendant of the pioneer McClendon, Pearson and Newton families of middle Georgia, died in Crawford Long Hospital March 28, 1992 after a long illness. Following Wesleyan and Shorter Colleges, world travel, business school and moving to Atlanta; during WW she was an executive secretary at the CAA in addition to being a USO volunteer. Later while holding the same position in Georgia Tech's Graduate School, she was honored at a banquet and presented a T-Grad Key for dedicated service. After her marriage in 1952 to interior designer Tom Persons, who survives and enjoying a social life in addition to lending moral support, upon the retirement of his long time associate she joined the firm at his urging.

One of their greatest pleasurers was the restoration of former Mayor Courtland Winn's 1912 residence on West Peachtree which elicited compliments from classical architect Philip Shutze. Her memberships included First United Methodist Church in Newnan, Life Member of The Irish Georgian Society, Family of the Little Church Around the Corner in New York, Newnan Junior Service League and former member of the Atlanta Athletic Club and Newnan Country Club. Amoung her uncles, John A. Manget, who underwrote Emory's first archeological dig in Egypt and the Middle East and Dr. Fred Manget, whose encouraging words "God is Your helped the young WWII Air Force officer, and later author, allay and fear on missions.

Her grandfather Victor Manget was at one time president of Talbotton's LeVert Female College. Her greatgrandfather Victor Hypolite Manget, who immigrated from France was professor of Romance Languages at Amherst and author of "Manget's still to be found in several southern college libraries. After leaving the Army he worked in the family dairy business until 1961. He started as a Route Salesman for Servomation and by the time he left in 1973, he was Corporate Vice President of Sales. At his death he was CEO and Chairman of the Board of Autotote, a leading supplier of Parimutuel Wagering Systems from 1982-1989. He relinguished his position as Chairman of the Board, but remained as CEO. Earlier, he had been President of American Totalisator, a subsidairy of General Instrument from 1973-1982.

He was an avid golfer, member of the Elkridge Club, Baltimore Country Club, Atlanta Athletic Club and Wee Burn Country Club.
