Schmidthorst College of Business has adopted a bold, innovative and broad-based approach to business education. The discovery-based learning, hands-on experimentation and collaboration supports the development and education of future business leaders and entrepreneurs. The 2023 Poets & Quants ranks our program as 13th among public business schools in academic experience in the nation. The Life Design and Signature Work initiatives, unique to each student, designs their curricular and co-curricular experiences with an eye towards life-long learning. The Signature Work builds on the integrative learning where a student integrates and applies the concepts learned across disciplines to their life experiences and workplace settings culminating in a project report focusing on a societal issue. Our business curriculum incorporates UN Sustainable Goals, and Environmental, Social & Governance elements. The rigorous business analytic curriculum enhances each graduate’s adeptness in making data-driven informed decisions, which is crucial for success. Our alumni have successful careers with Fortune 500 companies. The median starting salary of our graduates is $62,000 and over 70% of our students complete at least one internship. The Peer Leader Program, Dean’s Student Ambassador Program, Dean’s Advisory Council, and award winning student organizations provide a variety of opportunities for students to develop and hone their leadership skills. The Dean’s Professional Workshop series help students earn industry recognized digital badges and certificates in Lean White Belt certification, Microsoft Excel certification, and Cisco Cybersecurity. Other certifications are integrated into our core curriculum such as the Bloomberg Market Concepts certificate.
